About Me
My earliest gardening memories are of picking pinks and auriculas all year round with my grandmother. They are still my favourite flowers.Our garden comprises 1/4 acre of sticky, heavy clay riddled with couch grass which rushes in under the hedge from the surrounding fields. More welcome visitors from the fields are wild cowslips. Features of the garden include a fenced orchard housing geese and chickens, a fair sized pond with decking area, greenhouse and herb garden with brick paths known as Mum's Vision. A fairly recent addition has been a willow dome, planted as a den for the grandchildren.I have recently started the KLC correspondence course Designing with Plants as although I like to think that I am fairly knowledgeable there is always room for improvement. All things go full circle, my young grandson says "Granni, we must work in the garden I need to grow some pink flowers for my Mummy". He is quite disappointed that, unlike my own Gran, I can't produce them in February.
