How do I make my profile private?

All new profiles initially start as private. If you’ve accidentally made part of your profile public then all you need to do is log in, go to My Profile (from the main navigation). If you click on My Details you will see 3 options at the bottom of the screen, click on the Private option – this has made your Details private – you may want to do the same with My Gallery, My Friends and the other profile pages. You have a lot of control over what you choose to make public or share with just your friends and/or group members.

How do I change my profile?

First you will need to log in (if you’re not already logged in), then you need to click My Profile at the top of the page. This takes you to your profile, ready to make some changes. Most of it should be self-explanatory but if you’re still stuck, there are some more specific questions answered in this section.

Nobody can see my profile

Your profile is probably set to be private (this is how all new profiles are set-up). You can make your profile more available to other site users by changing your privacy settings. You can make parts of your profile private (only you can see it), public (everyone can see it), friends only (which means only people in your friend list can see it), or groups and friends (which means only people in your friend list, and other members in the same groups as you, can see it). You can control parts of your profile separately – for example you can make your details private but your Gallery public and your Hot House articles friends only.

How do I change my username?

There is currently no way for you to change your own username from gardenersclick. Usernames are unique to each member. If you would like to change your username please send us an email with your request by clicking Contact Us at the bottom of the page.

How do I change my password?

You need to log in, click My Profile at the top of the page and then click My Account in the bottom-left of the page. You change your password by typing your current password in the top text box, and then type your new password in the next two boxes, then click Save Password.

Who can see my personal information?

Your username can be seen by anyone visiting the site, even those that aren’t logged in. Your email address is always hidden from all site users. You can control the visibility of your personal details, About Me, Gallery etc. yourself. On most of these sections there are four options of privacy you can choose from. If you set part of your profile to 'Private' then only you can see it. If you set part of your profile to 'Public' then anyone can see it (even people that aren’t logged in). If you set part of your profile to 'Friends' only then only members that are in your friends list can see it, and if you set part of your profile to 'Friends and Groups' only then only members that are in your friends list, or are members of the groups you are, in can see it.

I've forgotten my password

Don’t panic! Just click Lost Your Password?, located underneath the Login boxes in the top-right of the page. When you have selected the Lost your password? link it will open another field for you to enter your email address. This will need to be the same email as you registered with gardenersclick, and it will send you an email with a link that you will need to select or copy into your internet browser. Once opened you will then be asked to enter a new password. Once changed it will normally load you into the site as normal, if not simply log in with you new password.

If you’re still having problems accessing your account you can email us by clicking Contact Us at the bottom of the page – we may need you to confirm who you are before we reset any user accounts.

How do I stop gardenersclick emailing me?

You need to change your e-mail preferences. To do this, log in (if you haven’t already), click My News and then down the left hand side of the page are a series of check boxes – you can leave some on and others off as you prefer.

News Updates allows you to decide the frequency of the Recent Activity emails which inform you of the latest news from the My News page. Inbox Updates allows you to ch whether you wish to receive emails to your personal email address, and the Newsletter, lets you subscribe / unsubscribe from the gardenersclick monthly newsletter.

How do I get onto the Members and Groups Gallery?

The Members and Groups Gallery on the homepage is populated automatically by the gardenersclick system. Your profile images are displayed depending on whether you have logged on in the last 30 days and if you have a profile image. The Group profile images are displayed if the group has had contributions within the last 30 days.
