Unfourtunatly, with mares tail its like bind weed. You can keep pulling it out but once youve got it, its very hard to get rid of. Becasue the slightest bit of root in the soil will grow, and in talking microscopic size!

sure it's a form of knotweed, it's roots can go really deep, "they" who know, say they've seen knotweed roots in mine shafts!!

keep pulling it up and hope for the best

Try this,

I have never used 1. Kibosh 1LT - Total weedkiller & also kills mares tail     because i dont suffer with mares tail but i have been told it is very good..

i have it on my plot. it looks messy but does not harm your plants. roots can be at least 6ft deep. can be treated but takes alot of time. i just hoe the tops till i can dig for the black roots

just keep pulling it out and burning i have been at 12 months stil got it   out of curiosty idug down on 1 and the root was a good foot down
