Simon, if you watched the last Gardeners World you would have seen a glimpse of what truly makes Chris Beardshaw the better choice for a flagship gardening show. In a very short clip of his explaining what he was looking for in the scholarship winner he was clear, concise, erudite, direct, to the point, and comprehensible. His exemplary communication skills, positivity and  clarity of thought set him apart from other TV gardeners. His qualifications may have got him to this point but what will make all the difference to his future are these skills and abilities. He alone amongst the TV current  presenters is inspirational. I just hope the positive comments he gets here and elsewhere drift past the antenna of the BBC so that he gets the more front and center TV role his capabilities warrant.

If only more people thought of life as Chris does, as a journey of discovery and opportunities to learn and develop.

Can I have your day off please!!!! When I put the geese in at night, I often see bats flying around our barns I think they are beautiful and often watch them for a long time, they are so fascinating.
