Reclaiming nettle and bracken bed ???

Used to be veg garden, some bracken still among the nettles, will it be ok to plant anything in this year.  I was thinking of potatoes - soil is very good.  Am slowly getting rid of nettle roots, good for the soul after a hard day in the office.

Am worried about possibility of poisonous bracken roots and veg.  Watched a programme the other night with Alan Titchmarsh who said that in the wild nothing will grow with bracken except a certain violet and it make me think about my veg.

Any advice?

I doubt you'll eat a bracken root by mistake!  I grew potatoes on slightly brackeny land and I'm still here twenty years later!
