Marinara Pizza with Marjoram and Oregano
Marjoram and oregano are in season now so take advantage by adding them to your meals. Using them with pizzas is a great idea and sure to get children excited - plus the colours and flavours in this recipe make for a fantastic summer treat.
What do I do?
Pre-heat oven to 200C
Put the pizza base on a lightly greased baking tray.
Spread tomato sauce over the base, leaving a gap around the edge.
Arrange the seafood, capers and peppers evenly over the tomato sauce-covered base.
Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan over the seafood mix.
Add sprinkles of the marjoram and dried oregano.
Arrange the olives on top of the pizza.
Drizzle with olive oil and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Place in the pre-heated oven to bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pizza crust turns golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oven and serve.
My top tips
- Add fresh whole leaves of marjoram to salads, or combine its flavour and aroma with sautéed mushrooms for a perfect match.
- Lightly toasted oregano leaves work well with your favourite chili recipe, or serve with feta cheese drizzled in olive oil for a delightful summer salad.
